Like the previous semesters, Media Studies and Journalism (MSJ) department organised a programme styled “Meet the Artist” at Campus A on April 12. “Meet the Artist” is a programme regularly organised by MSJ where an artist is invited to have a session with students. This time, Artist Md Muniruzzaman graced the occasion as a guest. During the session, Muniruzzaman shared his experience and talked about his life, captivating the students.
Muniruzzaman is Founder and Director of the Gallery Chitrak. He is also the former director of Fine Arts Department of National Academy of Fine Arts. He is also general secretary of Bangladesh Artist Association. The paintings of Muniruzzaman feature tranquility, foggy environment, cloudy skies and hilly areas. The artist also highlights the deprived people, the lives of freedom fighters and childhood memories in his works. It is to be noted that Muniruzzaman bagged several awards from home and abroad.
Prof Dr Jude William Genilo, head of MSJ, thanked the artist for paying a visit to the department and also sharing his experiences with the students. AFM Moniruzzaman, senior lecturer of MSJ, played an important role to make the programme happen.
