ULAB MSJ student Elizabeth-DCosta

What does it mean to study Media Studies and Journalism at ULAB? The student environment is extraordinary. No matter what your passion is, the wide range of extra-curricular activities was there. ULAB offers teamwork. This allowed me to learn and exchange ideas in different fields. And of course my professors! They equipped me with the real world examples and made me ready to confront real situations in our professional careers.

After studying in Media Studies and Journalism I found it allowed me to acquire a lot of new knowledge. I benefited heavily from the education received from extensive professional and academic experience, as well as from the practical case studies carried out in groups.

ULAB holds a very special place in my heart. My advisor and teachers were always there to guide me and encourage me. ULAB gave me the freedom and courage to explore my potential and to engage myself under different local and international platforms: even representing Bangladesh in places like Brussels and Malaysia. Through the MSJ Department, I had the great opportunity to work with Catherine Masud in various documentaries and publications, and later as the Public Relations & Communication Coordinator of the Tareque Masud Memorial Trust. This year, I joined BBC Media Action Bangladesh as a script coordinator in their ongoing health project.”
