ULAB has been placed in the World’s Universities with Real Impact (WURI) Ranking 2020 for innovative and creative approaches in the thesis of the Masters in Communication program offered by Media Studies and Journalism department. ULAB has been ranked 46th among the top 50 universities under the Industrial Applications category.
MSJ launches two new study concentrations: Digital Journalism, Communication for Development.

The ULAB MSJ department passed the first stage of programme accreditation of the ACEJMC (Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communications).

CinemaScope started to organize the Dhaka International Mobile Film Festival (DIMFF).
Animation apprenticeship programme, ULAB Animation Studio and public relations apprenticeship programme, PR4U have been launched.
Prof. Jude William Genilo became the International Association of Media and Communication Research (IAMCR) Ambassador.
